Now at the age of 44, he is desperate to uncover the truth about his past and find his mother before it is too late. Also, 71 yr old Stella Stanley from the Cotswolds. Fifty years ago Stella Stanley was a young single mother struggling to raise her daughter Maxine on her own. But, like thousands of women in her position in the early 1960s, Stella struggled to cope. Faced with mental and physical collapse she was finally persuaded to give up her eighteen month old daughter for adoption. For fifty years Stella has carried the guilt of that decision.
