http://www.acma.gov.au/ACMAINTER.2490560:::pc=PC_9150 has latest tv_8.pdf OLD STUFF ========= Here is the draft of the new OzTiVo headend reorganisation. The goals of this reorganisation are: + To create a number of headends for Australia that provide for the various regions in the country, along with a set of providers in each region (FTA Analogue, FTA Digital, Cable providers, Satellite providers). + To do the above efficiently, so that TV guide slices only have the data in them for each region and/or provider. + To cater for areas which overlap several regions. + To fit within the weird headend, source, lineup and station constraints set by TiVo. The Readme.organisation gives the basic organisation of files in each directory. The Readme.fileformat describes what is in each file in some detail. What Is Needed ============== I need people to eyeball the files and spot mistakes and omissions. I need people to mail me Analog FTA lineup files for regional areas with all the channel numbers. Building a Lineup for Your Region ================================= Look at regions.list for your region. If you are not sure of which region you are in, check the maps at http://www.ourguide.com.au/. Choose a suitable postcode for your Analog FTA lineup file, and set the version to 1. Now you need to work out what channels you receive, and how they relate to the stations in the stations.list. Maybe your TV will tell you the channel numbers, or you can consult your paper's TV guide. If you get stuck, you can find a definitive list of Analog FTA channel numbers in Section 8 of the Licensed TV broadcasters at http://www.aba.gov.au/broadcasters/television.htm. Ignore the lilac channels, these are digital ones. This list from ABA gives you the callsign but it doesn't tell you which "provider" the channel is (ABC, SBS, Seven, Nine, Ten, Prime etc.). Each region is going to have several transmitting "points". Please put in a comment naming your transmitting point before your channels. See the lineups in QLD and NSW for examples. If you can fill in all the transmitting "points" for your regions, excellent. If not, give me what you can and hopefully someone else will fill the rest in later. Once you have completed your Analog_FTA.lnup file, e-mail it to Warren, wkt AT tuhs.org. If you live somewhere where you receive channels from 2 or more regions, send in an e-mail about this to Warren.
