Hi, I am new to this great forum and living down under from down under,

because of the IR work done. Thanks to the info and a some research I
got  my VCR (AKAI) now tuning  for my TIVO via IR and don't need to
replace my Tivi tuner to get PAL capability. It works reliable, have
used it a week now.

May be my experience will help others. I can do a complete description
of what I did, if someone wants that. The difference to other solutions
is that my AKAI VCR is not listed on the  Pronto site and I have no
Pronto to learn. I have however, a RCA-810 universal remote and used
that, understood and converted the output with some help of  JP1

Just in case someone owns a AKAI VS G 2160, I have included the IR
database modification.  I will publish the dbsX, that is a unification
of dbs and tivoir. 974/12 is the satbox IR box I used. The enter code is
not used and a copy of the 0 key.
