The stations.list file gives details of every station in Australia. Note that a station is the original transmitter of a video stream. It can be in a different location that the receiver, and it can be received on a number of different channels. In other words, stations and channels are not the same. For example, Showtime is broadcast from Sydney via satellite and is received in other locations. This is why there are no channel numbers in the stations.list file. Each state is represented by a directory: ACT, NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, NT. In each state directory there is a DBS.head file, which names the Digital FTA, Cable and Satellite lineups for the whole state. This assumes that the Digital logical channel numbers (LCNs) are the same state-wide. In each state directory there is a single *.head file which holds _every_ lineup for that state: Antenna, Digital, Cable and Satellite lineups. This allows the following: You Want This You Choose This in Guided Setup --------------------------------------------------------------- Any single signal source Cable Two signal sources Satellite and Cable, but the tuner must be Cable Each state has several lineup files with this naming convention: Digital_FTA.lnup Digital FTA for whole state "Provider"_Digital_Sat.lnup Satellite lineup for whole state "Provider"_Sat.lnup Satellite lineup for whole state "Provider"_Digital_Cable.lnup Cable lineup for whole state "Provider"_Analog_Cable.lnup Cable lineup for whole state "Area"_Analog_FTA.lnup Analog FTA for a specific region Each lineup file lists the channels available in the lineup, i.e the channel number and the associated station. Note that most of the Cable and Satellite lineups "use" a second file in the CableSat/ directory to get most of the channels, and then list only the "special" channels for that state.
